CHITHRA Don Bosco Social Service Society, Chitradurga, in collaboration with BREADS Bengaluru and Cholagatta Grama Panchayat, Chitradurga, celebrated World Environment Day at Govt Higher Primary School Malappanahatti, Chitradurga. The program was organized with the objective of promoting environmental awareness, encouraging healthy habits, and supporting the overall well-being of children and the community.
The celebration began with an awareness program highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and the role of every individual in protecting nature. As part of the event, saplings were planted in the school garden to encourage students to care for the environment and develop a sense of responsibility towards nature. The activity created enthusiasm among the students and teachers, who actively participated in the plantation drive.
To encourage learning and recreational activities among children, chess boards were distributed to the students. The children were very happy to receive them and showed great interest in learning and playing chess. This initiative aimed to promote concentration, critical thinking, and healthy use of leisure time.
A one-hour Mental Health Awareness Session was also conducted for students and parents of children with disabilities. During the session, important topics such as mental health, stress management, emotional well-being, and mobile phone addiction were discussed. Practical tips were shared to help participants manage stress effectively, maintain positive mental health, and develop healthy daily habits. The session was interactive, and participants actively engaged in the discussions and activities.
The program was attended by PDO Mr. Viresh, SDMC Members, School Teachers, parents, and 120 students. Their active participation contributed to the success of the event.
