Mental Health Practitioners’ Meeting at CHITHRA Don Bosco, Chitradurga…

On 20th June 2026, CHITHRA Don Bosco Social Service Society in collaboration with BREADS, Bengaluru, organized a Mental Health Practitioners’ Meeting under the MINDS Project with the participation of District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) officials, de-addiction center staff, and health department personnel. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, discuss available mental health services, referral procedures, and the support required for effective implementation of the MINDS Project.

The program commenced with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Divakara V, MINDS Program Coordinator. Ms. Rakshitha K, MINDS Program Counselor, introduced the MINDS Project, highlighting its vision, objectives, and key activities focused on promoting mental well-being and community-based mental health support.

During the meeting, participants discussed mental health services, community-level identification of mental health cases, referral mechanisms, and interdepartmental cooperation. Mr. Divakara V presented the project objectives and emphasized the importance of stakeholder collaboration in identifying, referring, and supporting individuals facing mental health challenges. The presentation also covered community awareness programs and referral systems.

The Manager of Buzz India NGO shared information about the organization’s services and highlighted opportunities for partnership in strengthening mental health initiatives and community outreach activities.

An interactive discussion session enabled participants to share field experiences and challenges. Key issues discussed included mobile phone addiction among children, learning difficulties, suicide prevention, school counseling support, DMHP referral procedures, examination stress, parent awareness, and activity-based mental health programs.

Certificates were distributed to all participants in appreciation of their valuable contribution and active participation. The program concluded with a vote of thanks.
