CHITHRA Don Bosco Social Service Society Conducts Capacity Building Workshop for WELivE Project Beneficiaries

On June 29, 2026, Chitradurga Don Bosco Social Service Society organized a Capacity Building Workshop for the beneficiaries of the WELivE Project. The workshop was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Arun, Director of Chitradurga Don Bosco Social Service Society, Dr. Kumar, Deputy Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dr. Kruthika, Veterinary Officer, Mr. Murali, Financial Literacy Counsellor from Canara Bank, Ms. Kavitha, a WELivE Project beneficiary and Mr. Jayanna, Marketing Consultant of the WELivE Project, by lighting the traditional lamp.

Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Arun emphasized that the economic empowerment of women plays a vital role in the overall development of families and society. Dr. Kumar appreciated the efforts of Chitradurga Don Bosco Social Service Society and encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge gained from the workshop in their daily lives and share it with others.

Dr. Kruthika, Veterinary Officer, delivered a comprehensive session on scientific sheep and goat rearing. Her presentation covered topics such as breed selection, shed construction, balanced nutrition, fodder cultivation, Azolla production, prevention of infectious diseases, vaccination, deworming, and other essential livestock management practices.

Ms. Devika, Inspector from the Department of Sericulture, provided information on government schemes and subsidies available for sericulture, as well as employment opportunities that can be accessed by converging sericulture activities with the MGNREGA scheme.

Mr. Murali, Financial Literacy Counsellor from Canara Bank, created awareness among the participants on bank account management, digital banking services, accident insurance, pension schemes, cybercrime prevention, and loan facilities available for women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

The beneficiaries of the WELivE Project actively participated in the workshop, interacted with the resource persons, and clarified their doubts through engaging discussions.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mrs. Teresa, Programme and Communication Coordinator of CHITHRA Don Bosco Social Service Society. Mrs. Shashikala led the opening prayer and the workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Jayanna, Marketing Consultant of the WELivE Project.
