Training for Parents on Mental Health at PHC, Yalagodu…

On 16th October 2026, CHITHRA Don Bosco, under the MINDS Project, organized a parents’ training at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Yalagodu village, Chitradurga. Ms. Rakshitha, Counsellor of the MINDS Project, CHITHRA Don Bosco, provided valuable information on the importance of mental health and various stress management techniques, emphasizing the need to maintain good mental well-being in daily life. Mr. Divakar, Coordinator of the MINDS Project, created awareness among parents about mobile phone addiction and its impact on children’s physical and mental health. He also explained the importance of positive parenting, encouraging parents to develop healthy relationships with their children through love, care, understanding, effective communication and emotional support. Mr. Divakar provided individual counselling to a new client at the PHC who was experiencing emotional difficulties, offering guidance and emotional support to help the client understand and manage their concerns. The activities aimed to promote mental health awareness, encourage positive parenting practices, address mobile phone addiction and provide psychological support to individuals in need.
