World Environment Day Celebration at Madakaripura Gram Panchayat, Chitradurga

On the occasion of World Environment Day, a special event was organized in collaboration with the Zilla Panchayat, Gram Panchayat, and CHITHRA Don Bosco, Chitradurga at the premises of the Government Higher Primary and English Medium School, Madakaripura Gram Panchayat, Chitradurga on 3rd June 2025.As part of the special campaign themed “Ending Plastic Pollution”, the event was inaugurated by the Project Director of the Zilla Panchayat, Mrs. P.S. Gayathri, by planting a sapling. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized the ill effects of plastic usage and the importance of protecting the environment. She remarked, “Environmental protection is the responsibility of each and every one of us.”

Mr. Mahantesh, Social Activist of CHITHRA Don Bosco, also addressed the participants that on the 2025 World Environment Day theme “Ending Plastic Pollution” and stressed the importance of making our surroundings plastic-free and green. He highlighted that our role in environmental protection and shared powerful messages like “Protect the Environment, Save Lives.”

On this occasion, the students took a Cleanliness Pledge, followed by a community awareness drive on environmental protection. The program successfully brought together different sections of society in the effort to build a plastic-free and greener future.

Mrs. Bhavya (Gram Panchayat President), Members of the Gram Panchayat, Officials from the Health Department, Staff from CHITHRA Don Bosco Social Service Organization, Members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Community leaders and local residents and children were present for the same.
