WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM AT CHITHRA DON BOSCO

CHITHRA Don Bosco, Chitradurga organized an awareness training for Self Help Group (SHG) members on Women Entrepreneurship, Income Generation Activities, and Women’s Mental Well-Being on 18th of September 2025.
The program commenced with a prayer song by Choudeshwari SHG Members of Kurumaradikere village. The programme inaugurated through watering the sapling by all the dignitaries.
Rev. Fr. Felix Serrao, Administrator and Incharge of CHITHRA Don Bosco, addressed the gathering by explaining the objectives of the training. He appreciated the ongoing works of CHITHRA and encouraged the SHG members to utilize evening study centers to provide quality education for their children.
Following this, Mr. Srinivas, Taluk Coordinator, NRLM Division, Taluk Panchayat, Chitradurga, spoke about various skill development activities and briefed participants on facilities and loan provisions available under NRLM.
Mr. Yogesh, District Project Coordinator, Zilla Panchayat, Chitradurga, enlightened the participants on the concept of SHGs, five formulas for SHG strengthening, Panchayat Raj system, NRLM schemes, Sanjeevini Federation, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Pension Scheme.
Mr. Divakar, MINDS Coordinator of CHITHRA Don Bosco, presented on Parental and Child Mental Health. This was followed by Mrs. Anthony Theresa, Programme & Communication Coordinator of CHITHRA Don Bosco, who conducted a session on the role of parents in managing screen-addicted children.
At the end, Mr. Mahanthesh, staff member of CHITHRA Don Bosco, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, facilitators, SHG members, and participants. A total of 82 members were present for the same.
