Posted on September 16, 2025 by admin Eco-Club Activity and Kitchen Garden Awareness Programme On 15th September 2025, CHITHRA Don Bosco, in collaboration with BREADS Bengaluru, organized an Eco-Club activity at Govt. Higher Primary School, Guddada Ranganahalli, Chitradurga. During the program, children proudly showcased the leafy vegetables cultivated by them in the school’s kitchen garden, which were later used for the mid-day meal. Mr. Ramesh Reddy, Educational Coordinator from the Department of Education, addressed the students and appreciated the initiative. He emphasized the importance of agriculture, organic farming, and environmental education through Eco-Club activities. He also encouraged students to adopt pollution-free and sustainable practices for a healthier environment. Mr. Mahanthesh, ECO project coordinator of CHITHRA Don Bosco raised an awareness on agriculture, organic farming, and the significance of kitchen gardens in promoting healthy nutrition and environmental sustainability. He shared the information on maintaining the school garden and utilizing it effectively for both educational and nutritional purposes. It was decided that during the October vacation, Eco-Club members, along with SDMC (School Development and Monitoring Committee) members, parents, and the school staff, would take collective responsibility for maintaining the kitchen garden. The SDMC members assured their full support in this initiative. Mr. Prakash, C.R.P. (Cluster Resource Person), SDMC member Mrs. Suma, the school Headmistress Mrs. Netravathi, teachers, parents, and children were present for the program.
