CHITHRA DON BOSCO – Training on Sheep/Goat Farming for Women

CHITHRA Don Bosco, Chitradurga, organized a training workshop for the beneficiaries of the WELivE project on 20th September 2025.

The program commenced with a prayer song by Mrs. Lakshmidevi from Kasavanahalli, Chitradurga. Rev. Fr. Benny Christhudas, Principal of Don Bosco Degree College, inaugurated the program. Dr. Murugesh from the Veterinary Department, Chitradurga, served as the resource person for the workshop. The inauguration was marked by lighting the lamp by all the dignitaries.

Following the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Murugesh conducted a session on sheep and goat farming through a detailed presentation. He explained the objectives of the training and provided information on various topics, including sheep and goat breeds, feed and fodder cultivation, stall-fed farming, self-sufficiency through sheep and goat farming, products derived from sheep, meat breeds, common diseases, and vaccination cycles.

Mr. Divakar, MINDS Coordinator of CHITHRA Don Bosco, conducted an awareness session on the prevention of suicide, marking the importance of September as Suicide Prevention Month. Participants took an oath pledging not to commit suicide and to help others overcome suicidal tendencies.

Mrs. Theresa, Program and Communication Coordinator of CHITHRA Don Bosco, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, facilitators and participants. A total of 120 members attended the program.
