ANIMATION PROGRAM FOR YOUTH AT CHITHRA DON BOSCO

On 21st September 2025, CHITHRA Don Bosco, Chitradurga in collaboration with Bosco Youth Services organized an Animation Program for Youth and Volunteers Training on the theme of Mental Well-Being.

The program commenced with a prayer song by Ms. Rakshitha, a member of the Chitradurga youth group, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp by all the dignitaries to inaugurate the event.

Deacon Anthonyraj SDB, Director of CHITHRA Don Bosco, delivered the keynote address highlighting the main objectives of the program and emphasized the importance of mental health in the lives of young people.

Rev. Fr. Maria Praveen SDB (Principal of Don Bosco States School and Animator of Bosco Youth Services), took the session on Mental Health. He explained the factors leading to poor mental health, and shared the four principles for maintaining mental well-being. He also explained the “4 Wheels” of life—Family, Society, Personal, and Professional—along with Emotional Health and the importance of Self-care.

Then Ms. Soumya, Lecturer, provided insights on Artificial Intelligence. She explained the pros and cons of AI, its negative implications, and its significance in medicine, daily life, education, and employment. She also guided the youth on job search preparation, resources, job portals, online exam platforms, and top consultancies for both general and IT-related roles.

Mr. Daniel (Lecturer and President of Don Bosco Youth Group, Chitradurga) shared valuable information on Government Schemes available for youth in the field of education and competitive exams.

Mr. Divakar, MINDS Coordinator of CHITHRA Don Bosco, conducted an awareness session on the prevention of suicide, marking the importance of September as Suicide Prevention Month. Participants took an oath pledging not to commit suicide and to help others overcome suicidal tendencies.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Theresa, Program and Communication Coordinator of CHITHRA Don Bosco, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, resource persons, and participants.

A total of 30 youth members participated for the program.
